OSFC is now leading the way with virtual learning
OSFC were recently awarded EdTech demonstrator status, meaning we have been recognised as using technology highly effectively to support our students’ learning, and we are now successfully leading the way and delivering sessions to support other schools and colleges to improve their practice too.
We’re currently supporting 30 schools, covering primary schools right through to 11-18 providers with our dedicated team of 5 project leads and 5 specialist EdTech Demonstrators. This team, across OSFC & our trust partner school, The Hathershaw College, have delivered 5 webinars so far to a range of audiences: SLT to help them with contingency planning, for Governors to help them understand remote learning, and many others to support teachers with using Google Classroom and understand best practice in remote learning.
With this wealth of knowledge and experience, we are the best placed college in the area to deliver virtual learning to students. We take great pride in leading the way with online learning and ensure all of our tutors have received training in the use of G-suite, including Google Classroom, Google Meet and Google Docs, software we have been using for well over a year within all our courses.
All our students benefit from G-suite, so they can access resources at all times and from anywhere as well as huge investments the college has made into equipment and physical resources. Students will receive support and guidance on using G-suite during their time at OSFC and will have access to our online learning platform, which has been proven to be hugely successful in securing students’ learning and progression.
We are confident that, whatever may happen in the future, students at OSFC will receive the education they deserve. And now, as an EdTech Demonstrator, we can continue to share our experience to more students.
