What Will You Learn?
The Education and Early Years T Level gives you an opportunity to learn about the education sector and you will develop the skills required for threshold occupational competence. You will gain knowledge of the holistic needs of children from 0-19 years and will apply theoretical knowledge to educational concepts.
You will learn how to plan learning experiences, how to manage behaviour and how to communicate with parents and carers. You will also gain understanding of child development, including special educational needs. The course teaches you how to be a reflective practitioner and how to ensure the wellbeing of children.
Our program seamlessly combines classroom theory with hands-on practical learning, ensuring a well-rounded educational experience for all students. This comprehensive two-year course also features a 12 week+ work placement to provide real-world application of acquired knowledge. With a focus on equipping individuals with practical skills and knowledge, the program combines classroom learning (80%) with valuable on-the-job employment experience (20%). Assessment methods include externally set exams and skill assessments to demonstrate competency and mastery of essential skills.

Year 2
- Performance outcome 1: Support the class teacher to enhance children’s education, individually and in groups
- Performance outcome 2: Plan, provide and review educational opportunities in collaboration with teachers and other adults
- Performance outcome 3: Safeguard and promote the health, safety and wellbeing of children and young people
- Performance outcome 4: Recognise, adapt and respond to individual children’s needs, including those with SEND, to support development and access the curriculum
Studies will include:
- Collaborating with educators and other staff to plan, implement, and assess learning experiences.
- Ensuring the safety, health, and well-being of children and young people
- Recognising and accommodating the unique requirements of each child, especially those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), to facilitate growth and curriculum participation.
Special Features
The course includes enrichments opportunities such as day trips to local Universities, introductory sessions on British Sign Language (BSL) and First Aid Training, we also have educational trips to attractions such as theme parks and museums, which provide an opportunity for students to experience how these trips can be linked to the National Curriculum and increase cultural capital, alongside an appreciation of the benefits of learning outside the classroom.
We offer weekly subject support workshops. These will ensure you exceed your academic potential, developing skills that will be valuable in further studies or the world of work, These include public speaking, presentations, debates, critical thinking, essay writing and more.
