Prof. Christine Horrocks
Christine is currently Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the Faculty of Business and Law at Manchester Metropolitan University. As a Professor of Applied Psychology, Christine has also led Manchester Metropolitan's Cheshire campus and Department of Psychology. Prior to this, Christine was Head of Psychology at the University of Bradford and Director of the Centre for Applied Psychology at the University of Huddersfield.

Jayne Clarke
Jayne has been Executive Principal for the Pinnacle Learning Trust since 2017 and Principal at Oldham Sixth Form College since 2010. She is a member of the Sixth Form Colleges Association Council and Chair of their Funding Committee, along with chairing the North West SFC Principals Group. Jayne is a National Leader of Education and supports a number of other secondary schools in a governance capacity. She is also a member of the Oldham Opportunity Area Partnership Board.

Jenny ArnoldVice Chair of the LGB - Co-opted Governor
Jenny Arnold
Jenny joined the Board as an Independent Governor. She is a Family Solicitor and works at JMW Solicitors LLP in Manchester City Centre. Raised in Oldham, she is a former pupil of Oldham Sixth Form College and studied Law at Nottingham University. Jenny is the Chair of the Yres Committee (Manchester) and a member of the National Yres Committee. She advises clients in relation to all aspects of family law including divorce, financial settlements and issues in relation to the arrangements for children. In her spare time, Jenny enjoys running, yoga and salsa dancing.

Shoab joined the Board in September 2013. Shoab has lived in Oldham most of his life and is an elected member of Oldham Council. He represents Werneth ward on the Council. He is married with 3 children and is also employed by Onward Homes.

Shuma Rahman-Chowdhury
Shuma is currently a Parent Governor on the LGB, and is a member of the Health and Safety Committee. Shuma is employed as a Pension Fund Accountant at Mercer Ltd and is working towards completing the ACCA qualification to become a qualified chartered accountant. She has worked in various roles across the public and private sector and has varied experience in Pensions, Education and Insurance.

Helen Rowland
Born, educated and living in Oldham, Helen passionately believes equality of opportunity starts with education; irrespective of where you were born or where you live, a high quality education in a great Oldham school will make a fundamental difference to all our children's lives, career prospects and social mobility.
Keen to support the quality of education, Helen is Independent Governor at Oldham Sixth Form College, where her son studied and a parent governor at Saddleworth School, where her son is in Year 11. She is also a Board member of the newly established Oldham Learning.
A former teacher and Head Teacher in Oldham, Helen has been the Chief Executive of Focus-Trust since 2015, a primary trust with fifteen schools in Oldham, Greater Manchester and West Yorkshire. Helen is proud of the positive difference Focus-Trust have made to the lives of the children and staff in their four Oldham schools. She is keen to work in partnership with other governors and leaders, families and communities at Oldham Sixth Form College to ensure the college provides a happy, positive and inspirational learning and professional environments for our young people and staff to thrive, achieve and succeed in.

Jan Jones
Jan was appointed as Clerk to the Corporation on 1st January 2012. Jan did her degree in Communications at Loughborough University, where she graduated with a First class honours in 1996. She then went on to do a Post Graduate Diploma in Careers Guidance at Nottingham Trent University, and worked as a Careers Adviser for 15 years. Jan has volunteered as a Governor for 17 years, and most recently with a Special School in Kirklees.

Andy Thorpe
Andy was appointed Staff Support Governor on Mon 27 Sep 21.
Andy is a retired Warrant Officer Class 2 of the British Army serving 23 years Full Service. Andy is a Trustee for his former Regimental Charity - Red Cypher, Regimental Standard Bearer (North) and the Business Development Officer and Standard Bearer of Shaw and Crompton Royal British Legion.
Andy is employed by the Trust as the Security Team Leader of the College.
Andy was born in Oldham and after completing his Military Service returned to his beloved Shaw.
