Prof. Christine Horrocks
Christine has had a long academic career working most recently working in a range of leadership roles. She was Pro Vice-Chancellor at Manchester Metropolitan University and is currently working on a variety of consultancy projects in higher education. Christine, also led Manchester Metropolitan's Cheshire Faculty and the Department of Psychology. Prior to this, Christine was Head of Psychology at the University of Bradford and Director of the Centre for Applied Psychology at the University of Huddersfield. As a Professor of Applied Social Psychology, Christine has worked with local authorities and social care providers focussing on evidence based change. As a resident of Oldham Christine is committed and honoured to be the Chair of the OSFC Board of Governors.

Jayne ClarkeExecutive Principal
Jayne has been Executive Principal for the Pinnacle Learning Trust since 2017 and Principal at Oldham Sixth Form College since 2010. She is a member of the Sixth Form Colleges Association Council and Chair of their Funding Committee, along with chairing the North West SFC Principals Group. Jayne is a National Leader of Education and supports a number of other secondary schools in a governance capacity. She is also a member of the Oldham Opportunity Area Partnership Board.

Shoab joined the Board in September 2013. Shoab has lived in Oldham most of his life and is an elected member of Oldham Council. He represents Werneth ward on the Council. He is married with 3 children and is also employed by Onward Homes.

Lizzie Egan-WalshCo-opted Governor
Lizzie has worked in Education in Oldham for over 18 years. She is passionate about inclusion and the young people of Oldham, has been a SENCO, is a Qualified Teacher of the Visually Impaired; and has worked with children and young people from 3-21 years. She is currently Headteacher at Lyndhurst Primary in Oldham - part of the Focus MAT, is a Leadership Coach and lives in Oldham.
Shuma Rahman-ChowdhuryCo-opted Governor
Shuma is currently a Co-opted Governor on the LGB, and is a member of the Health and Safety Committee. Shuma is employed as a Pension Fund Accountant at Mercer Ltd and is working towards completing the ACCA qualification to become a qualified chartered accountant. She has worked in various roles across the public and private sector and has varied experience in Pensions, Education and Insurance.

Helen RowlandCo-opted Governor
Born, educated and living in Oldham, Helen passionately believes equality of opportunity starts with education; irrespective of where you were born or where you live, a high quality education in a great Oldham school will make a fundamental difference to all our children's lives, career prospects and social mobility.
Keen to support the quality of education, Helen is Independent Governor at Oldham Sixth Form College, where her son studied and a parent governor at Saddleworth School, where her son is in Year 11. She is also a Board member of the newly established Oldham Learning.
A former teacher and Head Teacher in Oldham, Helen has been the Chief Executive of Focus-Trust since 2015, a primary trust with fifteen schools in Oldham, Greater Manchester and West Yorkshire. Helen is proud of the positive difference Focus-Trust have made to the lives of the children and staff in their four Oldham schools. She is keen to work in partnership with other governors and leaders, families and communities at Oldham Sixth Form College to ensure the college provides a happy, positive and inspirational learning and professional environments for our young people and staff to thrive, achieve and succeed in.

Jan JonesClerk to the Governors
Jan was appointed as Clerk to the Corporation on 1st January 2012. Jan did her degree in Communications at Loughborough University, where she graduated with a First class honours in 1996. She then went on to do a Post Graduate Diploma in Careers Guidance at Nottingham Trent University, and worked as a Careers Adviser for 15 years. Jan has volunteered as a Governor for 17 years, and most recently with a Special School in Kirklees.,

Andy ThorpeSupport Staff Governor
Andy was appointed Staff Support Governor on Mon 27 Sep 21.
Andy is a retired Warrant Officer Class 2 of the British Army serving 23 years Full Service. Andy is a Trustee for his former Regimental Charity - Red Cypher, Regimental Standard Bearer (North) and the Business Development Officer and Standard Bearer of Shaw and Crompton Royal British Legion.
Andy is employed by the Trust as the Security Team Leader of the College.
Andy was born in Oldham and after completing his Military Service returned to his beloved Shaw.

Ikram AlattarStudent Governor
I'm Ikram Alattar, and I am one of two Student Governors. In order to be heard and understood, I believe in voicing our concerns and ideas. I decided to be a Student Governor because I want to ensure that students' experiences at OSFC run smoothly. I am studying Law, Economics and Sociology. I attended Kingsway Park Highschool and aspire to pursue Law at a degree level.

I'm studying English, History, Sociology and Film at OSFC, and I hope to study History at University. I feel privileged Â to be a Student Governor Â because it allows me to use my time at the college to really make a difference for students.

Maria IbekingI am a wife and a mother of four children, and one of them (my oldest daughter) attends Oldham Sixth Form College.By profession, I've been a Â registered Â nurse since 2015, and I'm currently working in Accident & Â Emergency.My qualifications are Bsc Hons Adult Nursing, and Msc in Public Health.I am passionate about young people and their future. Â In my job I come across many teenagers/young people, and also see the struggles they are going through. Â Hence, I feel more passionate about supporting them in any way possible. Â I believe that education is key, and that they feel supported and heard to be able to achieve their Â goals. Â I also believe that a good partnership between college, students and parents is essential, and I feel this Â is Â something Oldham Sixth Form College prioritises.
