Student performs in Romeo and Juliet
A Level Dance student Katie Agarwal, has recently performed in world famous choreographer, Sir Matthew Bourne’s new production of Romeo and Juliet at The Lowry, Salford Quays. Katie auditioned with over a thousand other hopefuls and was chosen following three intensive days of training to be one of the six Salford Young Cast to join the professional company for the Manchester leg of the tour. This is a fantastic achievement to dance for one of the UK’s most successful choreographers and an excellent experience for Katie who aspires to be a professional dancer.
Sharon Bell, Course Leader for A Level Dance took a group of students to watch the performance:
“The whole performance was fantastic, Katie is a versatile and extremely talented dancer. Her performance in Romeo and Juliet was a true reflection of that and her technical ability and performance matched that of the professional dancers on stage. She has done incredibly well to cope with the demands of her A Level examinations and her training at The Vale Dance School alongside the rehearsals and performances for the production. We are extremely proud of her.”
