Housing

As a place in which to live, Oldham offers a great diversity of accommodation in a variety of locations. Owner occupation is the most common form of tenure among the Borough’s 92,000 households.

Available properties range from Victorian “two up two down” terraces in the residential areas near the town centre, to larger modern properties on new developments on the outskirts of town, to more traditional, stone-built cottages - some dating back more than 200 years. Mainly located to the east of the Borough, these are much sought after by city commuters impressed by the tranquillity and beauty of the area and the ease of travel.
