The latest Department for Education performance tables have been released and Oldham Sixth Form College is the strongest provider locally for A Levels. Jayne Clarke, Principal of the College and Executive Principal of the Pinnacle Learning Trust said “We are delighted that the latest Department for Education performance tables once again confirm that OSFC is the strongest provider of sixth form education locally. Students attending the college have achieved A Level progress scores that are significantly above the national average every year since these measures have been published.”
The tables give the headline indicator of‘progress scores’ that show how far a student has travelled between their GCSEs and the end of their A Level qualifications. A score above zero indicates students make more progress during their studies than their GCSEs suggest they might, and OSFC is the only Oldham post-16 provider in the tables with a score in the ‘above average’ category. We are particularly proud of the fact that this position has been achieved year on year, whilst the college maintains a very broad curriculum and enrichment offer, and provides excellent individual support to our large cohort of amazing students.
The tables underline the outstanding results achieved by OSFC students and explain the impressive progression rates to university and employment. They reinforce the fact that students can join OSFC safe in the knowledge that they will achieve excellent results and receive fantastic support to meet their future aspirations during their time with us.
