The PE Department’s annual fundraising event, the Olympathon, is now in its 5th year; every Summer students from around the College eagerly submit their application forms for a chance to be part of this massive occasion. Involving over 60 students in teams of 10, they compete in over 30 sporting events over the course of 26.2 hours, testing their endurance and commitment to the limits.
Students pledge to raise a minimum of £26.22 each for charity in order to secure their place, although the vast majority significantly exceed this requirement, and this year has event has been bigger and better than ever! OlympathonV has raised a massive £4576.52, surpassing the record set the previous year. The students’ selected charity this year is the Teenage Cancer Trust. In previous years the event has donated money to Help the Heroes, the Back-Up Trust, MacMillan Cancer Support, and the Daniel Bewley Trust.
The Olympathon has now raised £14,810.02 over five years!
