Spanish Exchange students welcomed to OSFC

In late October, students from IES Manuel Gutierrez Aragón in Torrelavega (Cantabria, Spain) spent a week in Oldham as part of OSFC’s Spanish Exchange. During their stay, the students visited local sights, enjoyed a day out in Liverpool, had a welcome by the OSFC Principal, Jayne Clarke, received talks about the educational system in the UK and took part in lessons at OSFC.

The Spanish students also enjoyed a two-day work experience placement at St Thomas CofE Primary School in Werneth, where they assisted the class teachers by offering a range of Spanish tasters and songs. The primary school pupils were also treated to Spanish afternoon led by the exchange students. After finishing their placement at St Thomas’ school, the Mayor of Oldham welcomed the students to the Council’s chambers, where they visited the Parlour and the silverware area. It was an excellent way of celebrating the 22nd Anniversary of the Exchange.

After a fantastic week in Oldham, OSFC’s A Level Spanish students can’t wait to visit Torrelavega early next year.
