Physics SymposiumTwo OSFC Physics students, Kieran McGovern and Rebecca Thornley, were lucky enough to be invited to take up two sought-after places at the prestigious Ogden A2 Physics Symposium at the University of Durham from 14 – 19 September.

Funded by the Ogden Trust, this symposium is exclusively for students who are in their AS year at time of applying, will take Physics at A2, and intend to study it as their first choice university course. All those attending are nominated by their school or college as someone who fits this category and the idea is to allow them to sample Physics as it is taught and demonstrated to first year undergraduates at Durham and to encourage them to apply to study the subject at degree level, whatever their choice of university.

Each year there are a maximum of 30 participants, from schools all over England who are associated with The Ogden Trust and accommodation is provided at Collingwood College.

Below are their diaries of how it went.
