An important date in the college diary 11th and 12th February, the college production has long been a popular event. This year’s performance will be the hugely successful and groundbreaking play Road, by Jim Cartwright. Set in the mid-1980’s, Road explores the difficult and often harrowing lives of a group of people living on the same road in the North West of England. It could be your town, your street. The cast also mix elements of another Cartwright play, Two, which is both comic and moving in equal measure.
Thought provoking and, at times, heartbreaking, Road explores what it felt like to be a living reject in a northern industrial town, ravaged by the economic policies of Margaret Thatcher. In this “Age of Austerity,” where the top 1% rule, the messages have never been more poignant.
Tickets are available from main reception and Sports Hall reception and will be £3 for adults and £2.50 concessions.
