Travel and Leisure Paris Trip is a Huge Success!
Residential to ParisForty Year 12 and Year 13 Travel & Tourism and Leisure Studies students enjoyed a really successful residential to Paris in March - an experience they all valued and will never forget.
Traveling from Manchester Piccadilly by tilting train, Eurostar and the TGV train service in France gave students an excellent insight into the different transport methods that can be used to reach destinations. Also, using the Metro service in Paris was an unforgettable experience!
During their stay the students visited a range of tourism and leisure attractions in the area, including both Disney parks, the Eiffel Tower, a boat trip down the Seine and a tour of the Stade de France football stadium. This gave them a valuable insight into the travel, tourism and leisure industry and the attractions available in one of the most vibrant capital cities in the world. And, to make things even better, the sun shone throughout their stay!
Particular highlights of the trip were the Disney Parade, all the theme park rides, the Eiffel Tower and the views from the top. Everyone had the chance to experience Disney magic and the trip has inspired many of the students to travel and work abroad at the end of their college or university courses.
Karen Brown, Travel & Tourism tutor said “We had a brilliant trip and the students were all great ambassadors for the College and their courses. They learnt a lot about the French culture, language, way of life and the history of the country while visiting some fantastic sights and also built a great rapport with each other and the tutors who accompanied them. We couldn’t have wished for a better trip.”
