Art & Design London Trip
Students in LondonThis year, the three Art & Design London trips all took place in the same week and those lucky enough to go on Thursday’s outing were even able to gatecrash the latest Harry potter movie being premiered in Leicester Square.
Undeterred by the inclement weather conditions that November traditionally likes to throw at us, our intrepid students experienced and savoured some of the delights of London’s finest tourist attractions. First stop was The British Museum, before strolling down to Covent Garden for some light lunch and an opportunity to do some Christmas shopping.
Suitably rested, we then took the Underground to Mansion House and walked up to St. Paul’s Cathedral. Then across the Millennium Bridge and in to the Tate Modern to see the controversial one hundred million porcelain sunflower seeds that have been installed in the Turbine Hall. By this time some of our party were beginning to flag , but there was still time to nip back to Trafalgar Square and the National Galleries before a final opportunity to recharge the batteries in Leicester Square.
All in all, a fantastic day out and for many of our students, a first and very memorable visit to London.
