Team Ignite in the Dragons' Den

Team Ignite, our Young Enterprise Group, have gone on to further success - winning one award in a Dragons’ Den Competition at Ernst & Young in Manchester and another at the final presentation evening at the Honeywell centre in Oldham.

At the Dragons’ Den event in March our students, in competition with several other schools and colleges, had to present their new product to five "Dragons" from various businesses around Manchester. The Dragons were extremely assertive, ensuring they analysed all sections of the ideas presented and quizzing the teams on their products. Ignite won the award for a Highly Commendable Product and finished fourth overall.

At the final event in May, the group were in competition with 14 schools and colleges from Bury, Rochdale and Oldham and judged by executive members of various organisations such as O2. They were given marks on their company report, trade stand and finances and answered many questions successfully. Their excellent marketing proved to be a key factor in impressing the judges and they won the award for Best Company Report.
