Five at the Bridgewater Hall
L-R: Faz Shah, Joe Stringer, Rory Farrell, Jacob Connor & Heidi YipCongratulations to five OSFC students who made an excellent debut with the Hallé Harmony Youth Orchestra at the Bridgewater Hall on Sunday 25th April.
Faz Shah(Concert Violin Soloist and Leader of 2nd Violins) , Joe Stringer (Trombone and Lower Brass), Rory Farrell (Percussion Section Leader), Jacob Connor (Trombone Section Leader) and Heidi Yip (Violin) impressed everyone with their outstanding performance as part of the Orchestra.
The Hallé Harmony Youth Orchestra was set up a year ago to create a youth orchestra that would represent and unite all of Manchester. The aim was to create an ensemble that would help develop talented musicians from all backgrounds - including those that had never played in an orchestra before. Students were auditioned and those with the right mix of talent gained a place.
The Youth Orchestra, is going to be featured in a documentary for Channel 4 later this year, which will focus on their progress leading up to yesterday’s Finalé concert. The film will feature many entertaining moments with our OSFC students enjoying great times on screen!
