New Principal
Jayne Clarke - New PrincipalThe Governing Body of Oldham Sixth Form College is delighted to announce the appointment of Jayne Clarke to be its new Principal. Gloria Oates OBE DL said “This is a particularly exciting time for the College that has been rated as Outstanding in four inspections as it is currently working on developing the first of a new type of Science Centre. To maintain its progress the College needed to appoint an outstanding candidate and that is what Jayne Clarke has demonstrated over the eight years she has served at the College as Vice Principal and Deputy Principal. She will be a worthy successor to the exceptional Nick Brown”.
Jayne’s record of success at the College has included leading the inspection process, helping the College achieve Beacon status and to be ranked as one of the best top 50 companies to work for in the Best Companies Awards. Jayne has led the development for the Science Centre and is greatly respected by Partners in the town.
Oldham Sixth Form College is one of the highest performing and best known in the country. Its development of the Junior University and the Science Centre has given it a national profile for innovation.
Jayne Clarke commented “I am delighted and extremely proud to have the opportunity to lead this outstanding College which is an exceptional place to work and to study. We face exciting times ahead in providing the very best for the young people in Oldham and the local area. With the advent of the Science Centre, we will build on our tradition of excellence and I look forward to working with the outstanding staff, students and Governors in ensuring the College progresses from strength to strength. I have had the best apprenticeship possible for this post in working with Nick and I will work with absolute commitment for the College and the town in taking on the role of Principal”.
Nick Brown said “Jayne Clarke will be an exceptional Principal of Oldham Sixth Form College. The College is crucial to the town’s regeneration and educational wellbeing and it needs a leader of the highest moral and intellectual character. In Jayne it has that and she will lead the College on to new heights”.
