Art & Design Students Are Inspired By Paris
OSFC Art Students in ParisFebruary half-term provided a much needed break for an exhausted yet triumphant group of staff and students on their return from the first ever Art & Design Residential to Paris. A jam packed itinerary over four days left them all with an indelible impression, that will live long in the memory, of one of Europe’s most beautiful and romantic cities.
Malcolm Stanbra, Head of Art & Design at the College, said:
“The extreme and dramatic weather conditions we encountered only served to enhance the overall experience. The blizzard conditions that shrouded Notre Dame would not have looked out of place in one of Claude Monet’s paintings of this Gothic architectural masterpiece.
As the photographs hopefully show, our cultural extravaganza also took in the delights of The Louvre, The Musee D’Orsay, Musee Rodin, The Eiffel Tower, Montmartre (Sacre Coeur), Les Halles and let’s not forget, you haven’t lived until you’ve Flunched! Personally I can’t wait until we return again next year and any interested students should let us know quickly as it’s sure to be popular.
So, in the words of Antoine de Caunes ‘Allez, Salute maintenant!’”
