Didsbury Graphics Exhibition 2010
Didsbury Graphics Exhibition 2010An exhibition of students’ work with a particular focus on the Art Department’s Graphic Design AS/A Level course of study
VENUE: MMU Didsbury Campus Birley Gallery
DATES: January 27th – February 18th
Graphic Design was introduced to the department curriculum programme in 2000 and has since flourished to become one of our most popular courses.
The main emphasis of the AQA GCE course is the development of visual communication skills through the various facets of graphic design and illustration. Two purpose designed and built Graphic Design studios equipped with state of the art IT facilities including Smartboard sympodiums, Wacom drawing tablets, scanners and digital cameras are used to deliver the course by four specialist staff along with a photography area (room 68) which allows students to personalise their assignments and mirror professional practice. There is also a part-time specialised (professional graphic designer) technician who assists four days a week.
The work on show aims to reflect the diversity of practice that has taken place over the last few years as well as celebrating the tremendous achievement of our students and their personal visions.
