Saddleworth Art Exhibition
Welcome to the 12th Oldham Sixth Form College Saddleworth Exhibition. The exhibition will run from January 8th 2010 - February 5th 2010. Oldham is a strong multi-cultural town including communities from Pakistan, Bangladesh, the Caribbean, India and the Ukraine among others.
Over the years the College has established itself as one of the best Sixth Form Colleges in the country. This has been confirmed in our last two excellent Grade 1 Inspection Reports and in the continued academic success of our students.
The College Mission Statement is:
To provide the highest quality education for students in Oldham and the local area so that they are equipped to the very best of their abilities to move onto HE and/or employment.
The Art & Design Department is an integral part of the vision of the College and the work on display reflects student responses to projects carried out on the following courses:
- Fine Art: drawing and painting in a wide variety of media.
- Graphic Design: exploring illustration and advertising in 2D design.
- Creative Design: an innovative blend of sculpture and 3D design.
- Ceramic Design: producing hand built pottery and sculpture in clay.
- Textile Design: emphasises an imaginative and innovativeapproach to surface design.
- Applied Art & Design: a two year general Art & Design course equivalent to two A Levels. Work placement included as part of course.

Next year will see the exciting introduction of Photography which completes the full range of Unendorsed ‘A’ Level Art courses available and no doubt the impact of this new course will be evidenced in next year’s exhibition.
Finally, I would like to thank everybody involved in the production of this exhibition for all their hard work and effort.
