Modern Langauges Exchange Website Launch
Modern Languages Exchange Website Launch On Friday 7th November, Oldham Sixth Form College launched our brand new Foreign Language Exchange website and, as far as we know, it is the only one of its kind in the country.
The purpose of the site is to promote the activities of the MFL department to prospective students and their parents, as well as strengthen the existing strong relationships between the College and its local partner schools by giving pupils the chance to log on and see the kind of exchange trips they can look forward to when studying languages at OSFC.
Each year, the majority of the College’s MFL students enjoy the invaluable opportunity to participate in one (or sometimes even two!) of the exchange visits to our partner institutions in France, Germany and Spain. Our partner colleges - in Le Mans, Berlin and Torrelavega – will all be linked to the Exchange site and there will also be a chance to see and hear previous students talking about the benefits they have gained from these trips.
On the same day, the department also launched a blog based on the exchange visits so that students can keep in touch between the trips. The French group at the College visited Le Mans for a week starting on Saturday 8th November, while the students from Le Mans will be visiting Oldham next March. The Spanish and German exchanges will take place next year.
