On Wednesday 17 September, the college was delighted to host presentations for aspiring medics from 2 fantastic speakers. Fifty students from Year 12 and Year 13 had the benefit of highly informative and inspirational talks from Linda Harding, Admissions Manager at Manchester Medical School, and Sanna Waseem, an ex-student of the college who read Medicine at Oxford University and is now a medical practitioner in the North West.
The presentations covered the application and interview process for Medicine degree courses, outlined what universities are looking for in students, highlighted the importance of undertaking relevant work experience and achieving high A Level grades and, via Sanna, gave students a valuable insight into the working life of a recently-qualified doctor. The students clearly enjoyed the session, as their intelligent questions demonstrated, and the college is extremely grateful for Linda and Sanna for giving up their time to visit the college.
Sanna is travelling to Kenya in early 2015 to gain experience of working abroad and we look forward to following her progress during her medical career.
