Despite what you may think there are so many fantastic career pathways open to talented linguists as a group of our A Level French and Spanish students found out on Tuesday 16th June.
For the second year running, Capita Translation and Interpreting kindly opened its doors and invited 11 of our A Level language students to spend a morning at their Head Offices in Delph, Oldham. The students had the unique opportunity to take part in a series of workshops which introduced them to the different careers within the organisation, which is part of Capita plc, the UK’s leading provider of business process management and integrated professional support service solutions. The workshops, delivered by multilingual professionals, focused on careers in Project Management, Marketing, Account Management, File Engineering, Bid Management and Vendor Management.
‘The visit was really useful as I didn’t realise how many different careers there were through languages,’ says Nikki Richards, an A Level Spanish student.
‘Helping our students become more aware of the vast opportunities open to them as language students is very important for us. The staff at Capita TI have supported us in trying to achieve this and we are very grateful that our students have had the chance to learn from their experience and expertise,’ says Sarah Shaw, A Level French Tutor.
For the first year ever, Capita TI is also offering our students the opportunity to apply for a work experience placement during the summer break. http://www.capitatranslationinterpreting.com/
