Meet The Principal
Nick Brown OBE
Thank you for expressing an interest in applying for a post at Oldham Sixth Form College. Working here can be both demanding and challenging, but we hope that all our staff also find it a rewarding and fulfilling experience.
We currently employ approximately 200 members of staff, representing both teaching and support roles, and operate a policy based on treating the whole staff as one. The Senior Management Team currently comprises the Principal, one Deputy Principal, two Vice Principals and seven Assistant Principals. Academic Departments, Student Services and all support staff report, through administrative and technical teams, to a member of the Senior Management Team.
For teaching staff, the excellent New Staff Support Programme provides structured input on College systems and policies. For more information please see the section on the New Staff Programme.
There is an annual review programme for all staff which considers performance and identifies development and training needs at both personal level and in line with the College’s priorities. This programme is well established and has helped many staff gain promotion both within the College and externally. There is a strong tradition of the College “growing its own” in terms of staff promotions and increasingly through ex-students returning as staff.
We offer an excellent working environment and have invested heavily in resources to support teaching and
learning. There is a comfortable staff room and well-equipped staff workrooms and offices. The maintenance of the College Buildings is always a high priority and all staff and students value the high quality of the surroundings in which they work.
If you are a team player, committed to education and social inclusion, high standards of achievement, value diversity, have a positive attitude and want to make a real difference to young peoples’ lives then working at Oldham Sixth Form College will suit you very well. Good luck with your application.
Nick Brown OBE
Principal.
