Following Nick Brown’s decision to stand down as Principal of Oldham Sixth Form College to concentrate on partnership and leadership activities, applications are invited from innovative, outward-thinking candidates who have the vision to lead the College into the next chapter of its development.

Oldham Sixth Form College, an inclusive College with excellent achievements and outstanding value added, was awarded Beacon status in April 2005 and was judged Outstanding in the last three Ofsted Inspections. The College plays an essential part in the strategic development of the borough and its Mission is central to the regeneration of the town. The current Principal chairs Oldham Strategic Partnership Board, the Public Services Board and the Local Learning Partnership. The College’s continued success now forms the basis for Oldham’s drive to become a University town, for which the College will develop its unique Science Centre, an aspiration at the heart of these partnerships. The College has an excellent reputation, not only in Oldham but throughout the country. The person chosen will have the ability to lead a group of highly qualified staff, supported by a talented and inspirational senior management team, to inspire and motivate staff and students, to liaise with partners and stakeholders and continue to work with external agencies to promote the College in the wider community. Oldham is a multi-cultural town and students from widely differing backgrounds and abilities attend the College. The new Principal will be expected to safeguard the current ethos of mutual respect and harmony amongst staff and students which led to the College being described “as a haven of peace and tranquillity”. The salary offered for this post is in the range £90,000 - £110,000, depending on experience and proven ability. The closing date for applications is 12 noon on Monday, 8 February, 2010. | Art and Design Workshop Technician: REF: 04/10 | |

To work within the College’s busy Art & Design Department, providing technical and general support in the maintenance, development and delivery of the College’s learning resources and equipment (this will also include specialist support for staff and students in lessons as part of the creative process).The post requires someone who is very flexible and willing to work in a variety of areas within the Art & Design Department. Salary: Pro-rata of Points 22 - 26 of the Sixth Form College’s Support Staff Pay Spine, equating to £15,269- £17,448 per annum.
