Oldham Sixth Form College was established in 1992 as a purpose-built, specialist centre for advanced level study. As such, it was designed with the needs of post-16 students in mind, meaning that every year we can offer a cohort of over 2200 the support they need to realise their potential.
Our reputation for academic achievement was further enhanced in August 2013, when our students achieved an overall pass rate of 98.4%, and an A*-C rate of 74%. Vocational students also achieved an outstanding pass rate of 100%. All our pass rates were once again above the national averages.
At Oldham Sixth Form College all our students are given very high levels of personalised support. Their progress and attendance are carefully monitored, with regular reports being sent to parents and Parents’ Evenings held twice a year. We also believe that it is important for our students to become independent learners and take responsibility for their studies. These skills will be invaluable when they progress to study at a higher level.
The College’s Mission means that we offer all students the chance to achieve success, with rigorous procedures in place to support those who may be struggling with their subjects. However, we realise that those students with high levels of achievement also need additional help and guidance to ensure they achieve to their full potential. Further information on the support available for them is outlined in this leaflet.
