Year 12 Enrolment

Main Entrance

For many school leavers, the next few days will be an emotional journey and we’re really excited to be welcoming another group of fantastic year 12 students. If you’re about to enrol with us at Oldham Sixth Form College, here is a brief insight into what will happen during your enrolment appointment. You should have received a letter in the post with your scheduled date and time. If you have not received this letter, or would like a reminder of when your appointment is, please contact us as soon as possible on 0161 287 8000.

To help your enrolment run smoothly we’re setting up a one-way route around the main building with colour areas covering each section we will need to complete together. Please arrive to the main entrance of the college at the appointment time you have been given.

There are 4 main things to complete on the today, which you can follow in more detail below. Along the route there are staff and student ambassadors on hand to help and to answer any questions you have. We will also have an enrichment information point so you can sign up for more details of the exciting options on offer and a competition where you could win a Chill Factore snowboarding and ski experience for you and a friend.

Step 1: GCSE results submission (orange area on map)

To enrol you, we will need to see your official GCSE or vocational results. Please aim to bring the printout of your results which you pick up from your school. We also need you to enter your results online on our website. It’s really easy and will take 5 minutes, visit to find out more.

Step 2: Principal’s Welcome Talk (green area on map)

You will receive a warm welcome from our Principal with more information about what will happen during your enrolment appointment.

Step 3:  Enrolment onto subjects (your scheduled enrolment room in the blue area on map)

You will have the opportunity to discuss your course choices with an enrolment tutor before confirming your new program of study.

Once your final programme of study has been decided, you will hand in your enrolment form at the checkout desk in your enrolment room. You will also pick up your new college diary with more information about your first day on Tuesday, 1 September.

Step 4:  Student photo I.D. card and finance & travel information (pink area on map)

The final things to do on the day. You will have your college photograph taken and receive your brand new OSFC student ID card which you will need throughout your time with us.

The finance area will also be set up so you can make the parents’ resources contribution payment of £25. There will be more information about the OSFC Bursary Fund and what support is on offer for travel costs to and from the college.

We hope that results day goes well for you, but sometimes things don’t go as planned. You might even do better than expected. Whichever scenario you find yourself in on Thursday our advice is simple, ‘do not panic’, come along to your enrolment appointment and we can discuss all of the options you have. We will also have advisors here from the local careers service, Positive Steps Oldham and our friends from Oldham College who will both be offering guidance on choices that include apprenticeships, traineeships and vocational courses.
