Student Profiles

Fatima Khatun - Biology, Chemistry

"I've always enjoyed my sciences, finding them both interesting and challenging and I wanted to further enhance my interests by studying Biology and Chemistry at A Level. I find both the practical and theory work involved really fascinating, and find it stimulation to constantly learn new things from these subject".

Hayley Hepworth - Biology

"I've always enjoyed biology so this was the main reason I decided to study at a higher level. I also knew it would be useful for the degrees courses I'm thinking of applying for. I find the course content interesting which is a good motivation to learn, also practical work breaks up the theory to make lessons more interesting. After College I'd hopefully like to go to university to study medicine".

Lewis Burridge - Chemistry

"I enjoy the science behind modern day products and how Chemistry has used applications and techniques to help in their creation. I like the level of logical thinking used in certain aspects of chemistry and the mathematical applications used in chemical reactions. The practical experiments are always enjoyable, interesting and able to be completed independently making learning more enquiry based.
The topics are relatively easy to understand due to the thorough notes on each section which are straightforward and simple.
On leaving College I would like to progress to the University of Manchester to study a chemistry based degree to allow me to prepare for a career in forensic science or teaching".

Sam Hill - Electronics

"I've always liked Electronics and found it really interesting. I like the practical side of the subject - when you see the theory in practice and see the results."
Sam plans to go on to university and study a course in electronics, like electronic engineering, or Chemistry.
