Jessica Bird – English Language Progress Prize & German Progress Prize

Destination: University of Sheffield: Chinese Studies with German

Jessica was an enthusiastic student who strove to reach her full potential and gained some outstanding marks. She devoted a huge amount of her time to improving her performance and completed many practice exercises, achieving some well deserved excellent results.

 

Kimberley Glabeke – French Progress Prize

Previous School: Kingsway Park (Balderstone)

Destination: University of Salford – Modern Languages

Despite finding the transition from GCSE to AS level quite challenging, Kim worked steadily in order to improve her language skills. She was able to build on her impressive oral skills by developing her grammatical understanding, resulting in a very good overall grade at A level.

 

Rosie Richards – French Subject Prize

Previous School: Wardle

Destination: University of Durham: – Modern Foreign Languages

Rosie was a talented linguist who worked exceptionally hard throughout the course, enabling her to achieve particularly high marks in the A2 exams. Her natural language skills, enthusiasm for the subject and desire to improve ensure that she will continue to make excellent progress at university.

 

Joe Ridley – Spanish Progress Prize

Previous School: Hulme Grammar For Boys

Destination: Employment – EasyJet

Joe made exceptional progress. He showed tremendous application and thoroughness in his learning so that by the end of the course he had improved by two grades on his AS performance. It was wonderful to see him maturing and developing confidence in his own abilities. He should be extremely proud of his achievement.

Mohsan was an outstanding student whose work ethic was truly exceptional. Lessons were always enlivened by his presence and he brought academic rigour to every activity. Modest and gifted with a gentle sense of humour, he was also very committed to his studies and always keen to improve.
