in GCSE English Literature.
About the Course
Media Studies enables you to enhance your enjoyment and
appreciation of media texts, as well as developing a framework
for critical understanding of media products and concepts.
Course content at AS includes theoretical and analytical modules
including Media Institutions and Audiences and Television Drama
and Representations. You will also be required to work as part
of a group to research, plan, construct and evaluate two linked
practical radio products in response to a set brief.

Film Studies

About the Course
Film Studies aims to develop your interest in and appreciation of
film specifically through studying the way film constructs meaning,
provokes a variety of spectator responses and raises personal,
social, cultural and political issues. You’ll study the relationship
between producers and consumers of film in relation to British
and Hollywood cinema. The course aims to provide you with a
foundation in the analysis of film, together with subject specialist
language which will introduce you to creative and production work
in the form of screenplays, storyboards and short films.

Combines well with all subjects, particularly Media Studies,
English Language/Literature, Art, Drama, Sociology and
Psychology.
