Results - Travel & Tourism
We have excellent track record as far as results are concerned. Ever since the AVCE in Travel & Tourism was introduced in 2000, we have had a 100% pass rate every year and for the past five years we have had 100% high grades as well. With 82% of our students from this year and last year achieving Double Disticntion. These results are well above national achievement rates and reflect the excellent support provided by the Travel and Tourism teaching team. Our value added result (which measures how much students have improved since starting here) has always been very good but for two years running, in 2010 and 2011, our outstanding results have meant we are classed as the best in the country.
Progression
Over half of our students progress to Higher Education courses in Tourism Management, International Tourism Management, Marketing, Event Management or other related degrees or HNDs both at local universities and further afield. The remainder are successful in finding employment and training in the industry. Examples of companies employing our students are British Airways, Britannia Airways, EasyJet, First Choice Holidays, Manchester Airport, The FirstResort.com, Hilton Hotels, Thomson plc, Monarch Airlines and Thomas Cook.
