The Enrichment Programme
The Enrichment courses we offer are a great way to learn a new skill, achieve an extra qualification or gain useful experience. Another advantage is that they look good on your UCAS application or CV as they show you have
interests and skills beyond your Advanced Level programme.
Our Enrichment choices for 2011/12 are described in this leaflet. We
anticipate a similar offer in 2012/13.
Academic Qualifications
Critical Thinking AS/A Level
Although this subject is usually taken as an additional course in Year 13, it's also possible to take the A2 in Year 12 if you have achieved the AS Level at school. The content of this course is different from other subjects in that it focuses on learning how to think and reason, as well as to write in a coherent and logical way.
Extended Project Qualification (EPQ)
Suitable for students with a high academic profile, who are committed to working independently, this course involves choosing and researching a topic of your choice and then writing an academic essay or producing an artefact before presenting your results to an audience
Science in Society AS Level
Not just for scientists, you'll enjoy this course if you are interested in the effects of scientific developments on our personal lives, topical scientific issues, the
application of science and the impact of science on wider society.
