Student Profiles

Bethany Woodcock - Accounting
Hulme Grammar School for Girls
"I decided to study Accounting because the teachers seemed really friendly at Information Morning and the department looked interesting and well organised. You use various methods of learning e.g. computers as well as writing and teachers are always readily available for help. The preparation you get for exam makes them a less stressful experience. I hope to go on to teacher training, with a joint degree in Music and Accountancy first".

Usman Zaheer - AS/A Level Business Studies
The Radclyffe School

"I decided to study this subject to enhance my knowledge and understanding of how a business is formed and key elements in order for a business to survive. This subject also gives me a base to develop and progress into a business related career. I enjoy the class discussions because I can learn from a variety of opinions and ideas and not just the tutors'. I also enjoy the structure in which the lessons are prepared as I feel there is an objective to achieve in every lesson. When I leave College I want to go to university to study either Business Management or Accounting".

Jack Shaw - AS/A Level Economics
St Augustine of Canterbury

"I'd never done Economics before and wanted to do something different. I've always been interested in how the economy works and so I decided it would be an interesting subject. It's enjoyable to learn about real world issues and gain an understanding of what the government is trying to do and how it does it. The teachers are also really helpful and answer all the questions you may have. I'm hoping to go on to university to study for degree in Economics".

Nazmin Akhtar - BTEC Certificate/BTEC Award Business Studies
The Radclyffe School

"I decided to study Business because I always wanted to become a successful entrepreneur. The thing I like studying about this subject is the different units that we cover. My favourite units are business planning, business online and promotional campaigns because I think they cover key aspects of business. When I leave College I want to go on to university to study Business Management".

Gina Harrison - AS/A Level Law
Failsworth School

"I have thoroughly enjoyed studying Law finding it interesting, challenging and liberating in that it has given me the opportunity to think on a different level. When I leave, I'm hoping to go on to university to study a LLB in Law, then complete my LPC and become a solicitor. I would also recommend studying Law as the tutors are extremely helpful and understanding, and the study facilities are excellent".
