On Thursday 20 December, former students and their guests enjoyed a fantastic informal reunion with staff before prize-winners attended a highly enjoyable ceremony, where they were presented with awards for their amazing achievements by guest of honour Baroness Morris of Yardley, Estelle Morris.

Estelle Morris gave an inspirational speech to students, praising their achievements and encouraging them to make the most of all the opportunities presented to them. She also applauded OSFC for its outstanding work with students and talked of her particular affection for the local area.

A total of 110 Subject and Progress prizes were awarded in addition to 120 prizes for Outstanding Achievement. A further 7 special prizes were awarded including the Governors Prize won this year by Emine Cakir (pictured).

In her closing remarks, Jayne highlighted the fact that the class of 2018 had achieved the best high grades in the college’s history. She spoke of her pride in the college having achieved Teaching School status and established the Pinnacle Learning Trust with The Hathershaw College.  She also thanked staff, parents and partners involved with the College for their support in helping students achieve so highly and thanked students themselves for being such a wonderful group of young people.
