Invitation to tender for bus services
Oldham Sixth Form College invites tenders for the provision of a bus service from the Rochdale area to College, morning and afternoon on a daily basis, following a designated registered route and it will be the service provider’s responsibility to register this route with the appropriate authorities.
The service will run term time in accordance with the College holiday schedule with the exception of 5 Inset days and several ‘special days’, the dates of which to be notified to you not less than one week in advance of that date.
The quote is to be based on a 3 year contract and the service must be largely self-financing by way of the students paying a fare directly to the driver upon display of their College ID card, although a small daily subsidy may be available.
In addition to the above, the college also engages the services of a coach company for a number of educational visits and sporting activities (a separate list is available on request)and we would ask for prices based upon a 49 seat vehicle and would also ask that you state your terms in the event of cancellation of any booking for these destinations, bearing in mind that sporting fixtures are weather and team availability dependent and are therefore subject to cancellation at very short notice. We would also point out that although the successful company will be our preferred supplier, this in no way precludes the College from allocating these one-off jobs to other companies.
All companies must abide by EU rules, must have full liability insurance and hold a current Operator’s Licence. All drivers must have current CRB checks in place.
Tender packs are available on request from Karen Dixon, The Finance Department, Oldham Sixth Form College, Union Street West, Oldham, Lancs, OL8 1XU with the completed tender to arrive no later than 31st May 2012 and companies will be contacted by post regarding the outcome.
